Sir Keir Starmer has said he will seek a much better Brexit deal with the EU if Labour wins the next general election.

The former chief prosecutor said his first priority would be to use the pact to improve British access to EU criminal data.

Sir Keir, who voted Remain and campaigned for a second Brexit referendum, is cloaking himself in the language of Brexit.

He said: “We need a much better deal with the EU. A deal that works for the whole of the UK. A deal that protects jobs, businesses and our economy.

"I will seek to negotiate a deal that delivers on these priorities.”
